Shop Front of the Year

The National Shop Front of the Year Award recognises and rewards the creative efforts and ideas of independent retailers.

The FIA team knows that designing and organising a great window display often goes unappreciated for independent retailers. However, an eye-catching, relevant and well thought out window display can help drive footfall, increase consumer interest and stimulate impulse purchases. A window display that has taken time, effort and skill demonstrates the retailer’s passion for their customers and for the footwear industry, which is why we love this award.

Big or small, specialist or general – all independent retailers are welcome to enter.

The overall winner of the category will receive £1500 of holiday vouchers. The runner up will receive an SSF Training Course worth £500.

To enter, retailers need to email one or more high-resolution images of their shop front displays from the past twelve months to Entries close on the 5th January 2017, so don’t delay!

If you are a manufacturer or agent, why not take a snap and send to us your favourite retailers’ shops (with their permission). The Footwear Awards Team will contact the retailer to let them know that their shop has a chance of winning this exciting award and the holiday vouchers that come with it! 

The 2016 winner: Billy Goat

Shop Front TileJo Hemsley is the owner of Hampshire-based children’s shoe shop Billy Goat, and winner of National Shop Front of the Year 2016.
She told Footwear Today: “We were delighted to win Shopfront of the Year and in our first year of trading too! It is very important to us to make sure that our shop windows are not only used to display the shoes that we sell, but also that they make people stop and look as they are walk past.  After we won the award two local newspapers ran the story, which really helped with spreading the word that a new shoe shop had opened in the town.  I would definitely encourage other shops to enter this competition as it can make a big difference to your business.”
